The dynamic calibration of a pressure transducers is achieved by applying to both the latter and the reference transducer a pressure step. The input signal e(t) coming from the transducer and the output signal s(t) coming from the pressure transducer subject of the study:

The transfer function H (ν) is defined as the ratio of the Fourier transform of the S (ν) on the Fourier transform of the E (ν).
The complex transfer function is usually represented in Bode plot. Both Gain (ratio of magnitude) and phase (in degree) are plotted versus frequency.

The incoming signal from the tested transducer and its associated electronics is filtered, converted to digital and then stored in memory with a transient recorder. The signal coming from the reference is also recorded.
The transient response and dynamic characteristics are then calculated thanks to the proprietary LMD’s software EDYCAP.
